Week 3 of the NFL season concluded with 11 Maryland football alumni seeing the field.
Miami Dolphins safety Dante Trader Jr. had an active Sunday on defense against the Kansas City Chiefs. The second-year Terp alum made nine tackles and defended a pass in a 24-10 loss.
Trader played 52 snaps and had the second-most tackles on Miami’s defense. He’s continued to be productive starting in one of the team’s safety roles.
Through three games, he has 14 tackles and two pass deflections, and in Week 1, Trader recorded his first career interception. Pro Football Focus graded him over 70 across the three contests in both run defense and tackling.
Against the Chiefs Sunday, he received an 85.9 tackling mark.
The 23-year-old will look to continue his progression amid an 0-3 start. Trader could benefit from continued experience as a starter with Miami despite the Dolphins being out of the spotlight as contenders in 2026.
In Week 4, the Dolphins travel to take on the Minnesota Vikings at 4:05 p.m. on Sunday.
* Jacksonville Jaguars safety Jalen Huskey was an inactive healthy scratch against the New England Patriots in Week 3.
* New Orleans Saints offensive lineman Alan Herron remained on the practice squad for Week 3.
* Buffalo Bills wide receiver DJ Moore caught six passes on ten targets for 67 yards against the Los Angeles Chargers. Moore returned after being questionable throughout the week with a shoulder injury.
* Chargers cornerback Tarheeb Still made three tackles and forced a fumble against the Bills.
* Bills running back Ty Johnson caught four passes for 50 yards against the Chargers. Johnson made his season debut after missing the first two weeks.
* Washington Commanders Stefon Diggs caught four passes on seven targets for 33 yards against the Seattle Seahawks.
* Arizona Cardinals kicker Chad Ryland made three field goals against the San Francisco 49ers, with a long of 49 yards, and also converted three extra points.
* Dolphins defensive tackle Jordan Phillips made two tackles against the Chiefs.
* Atlanta Falcons linebacker Josh Woods made one tackle against the Green Bay Packers.
* Las Vegas Raiders offensive lineman DJ Glaze received a 63.6 overall grade in blocking from Pro Football Focus against the New Orleans Saints. He played all offensive snaps.
* Carolina Panthers offensive lineman Corey Bullock played 23 snaps against the Cleveland Browns. Bullock received a 59.8 blocking grade from PFF.
* Minnesota Vikings wide receiver Tai Felton spent 32 snaps on offense against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Quarterback Kyler Murray targeted Felton twice, but he had no catches.
* Pittsburgh Steelers offensive lineman Spencer Anderson did not play against the Cincinnati Bengals. Anderson suffered a bone chip in his right leg 11 plays into the Week 2 matchup against the New England Patriots.
* Commanders safety Nick Cross did not play against the Seahawks. Cross suffered an undisclosed internal injury that he was hospitalized and released for during Week 2.
* New York Giants cornerback Deonte Banks was inactive against the Tennessee Titans. Banks has missed two weeks with a calf injury.
* Commanders tight end Chig Okonkwo was inactive against the Seahawks. He has missed two straight weeks since suffering a hamstring injury in Week 1.
**Practice squad & injured reserve**
* Commanders defensive tackle Byron Cowart remained on the practice squad for Week 3.
* Dolphins offensive lineman Gottlieb Ayedze remained on the practice squad for Week 3.
* Chargers offensive lineman Josh Kaltenberger remained on the practice squad for Week 3.
* 49ers defensive end Sam Okuayinonu remained on injured reserve due to early September foot surgery. The team is hoping for a late-season return.
* Philadelphia Eagles cornerback Jakorian Bennett remained on injured reserve with a knee injury. He is eligible to return in Week 5 against the Jacksonville Jaguars.
* Chicago Bears linebacker Ruben Hyppolite II remained on injured reserve following shoulder surgery. Hyppolite was waived with an injury designation on Aug. 30, he went unclaimed and reverted back to the team’s IR. He cannot play unless he reaches an injury settlement with the Bears.
* Vikings wide receiver Jeshaun Jones remained suspended through Week 3 for violating the NFL’s substance policy. He is eligible for reinstation on Monday.
* Longtime Terps running back Roman Hemby remained on the Raiders practice squad for Week 3.
Week 4 of the NFL season begins Thursday with the Pittsburgh Steelers at Cleveland Browns on Prime.
