The football world awaits after Manchester City were found guilty of 114 charges levelled against them by the Premier League on Friday.
Alan Shearer believes the recent Manchester City ruling will have serious ramifications for English football.
News broke on Friday claiming that City had been found guilty of 114 charges levelled against them by the Premier League. The allegations primarily focused on alleged inaccuracies in financial reporting, non-cooperation and failure to provide true details regarding player and manager compensation.
Man City have always maintained their innocence but, after years of stalemate, it has been reported that an independent commission overwhelmingly ruled against them, finding them guilty in all but one of the accusations.

Ironically, City are currently top of the Premier League - which is not set to resume until October 10. The eyes of the sporting world remain firmly fixed on the fallout as the most long-winded legal saga in top-flight history finally draws to a close.
Alan Shearer on Man City
Speaking to The Rest Is Football podcast, Newcastle United legend Shearer suggested players who recently joined Man City “must have known” the risk given the high-profile nature of the case. “They must have known that though. There must’ve been that element of knowing it was a possibility. Whatever gets thrown at them, agents must’ve spoken about this scenario.
“It’s huge, isn’t it? The ramifications for the football club, for everyone who works at the football club, the sponsors, everything. It’s huge news. We’re all sitting waiting to see what will be given to them as a punishment. I would guess they will appeal, I don’t know. It’s massive.”
