Cesc Fabregas is “not in a hurry” to leave Como, despite having a release clause in his contract that would allow him to join Chelsea, according to journalist Gianluca Di Marzio.
Speaking about the Spaniard’s future plans, Di Marzio said that the 39-year-old has already turned down three teams as he waits for the right opportunity:
“Fabregas’s is like a calculator. He knows he will manage one of these top clubs, but he’s not in a hurry. Last year he rejected Inter Milan, Roma, and Bayer Leverkusen, and Como didn’t want him to leave either.”
“Fabregas’s contract has a release clause for top clubs like Chelsea, Arsenal, and Barcelona, so it depends on which of these clubs finds itself in need first. Everything can change.”
Chelsea are fully behind Alonso
The Blues are certainly not in the market for another manager at the moment, and the decision to hand over more responsibility to Xabi Alonso following his appointment in July suggests he will be given every chance to prove he is the right man for the job.
The former Bayer Leverkusen and Real Madrid manager has had a rather mixed start to life at Stamford Bridge, with 2 wins, a draw and 2 defeats from his first 5 league games in charge.

Why is Fabregas in such high demand?
Since his appointment at Como, the former Chelsea midfielder has guided the Italian minnows to a 10th-place and a 4th-place finish in Serie A.
His team are playing in the Champions League for the first time in their history, and they won their first group fixture against RB Leipzig 4-1 earlier this month.
In the league, Como won 3 and drew 1 of their first four games before losing to Frosinone just before the international break.
