Liverpool first-team squad has largely been away from Merseyside this month, with as many as 18 players from the current first-team squad being called up for international duty.
The break is longer than usual. The September and November windows were combined into a single three-week period, running from late September to mid-October.
The trip has already cost Andoni Iraola two forwards. Alexander Isak scored in Sweden’s 2-1 win over Romania, then returned to Liverpool early with a minor thigh injury.
Cody Gakpo has also left camp. He went off after 17 minutes of the Netherlands’ 2-1 win over Serbia, and the Dutch FA said he would take no further part in the window.
Dutch reporter Rik Elfrink said the forward would be out for several weeks. Liverpool said he will be assessed by the club’s medical staff.
Not every Liverpool call-up this week involves the men’s team.
Rhian Wilkinson has named Liverpool defender Lily Woodham in her Wales squad for a World Cup play-off, according to the Football Association of Wales (FAW).
Cymru are looking to qualify for the FIFA Women’s World Cup for the first time. The 2027 finals will take place in Brazil.
Wales are potentially four games away from the tournament. Their round one play-off is a two-leg tie against Albania.
The first leg is in Shkodor on Friday 9 October. The second is at Parc y Scarlets in Llanelli on Tuesday 13 October.
The sides have already met twice this year, with Wales winning 4-0 at home and 1-0 away.
Woodham is one of 25 players in the squad. Six are uncapped, including first-time call-ups Casi Gregson of Newcastle United and Heidi Hills of Tottenham Hotspur.
Wilkinson will be without seven players through injury. They are Mia Ross, Hayley Ladd, Laura Hughes, Olivia Clark, Ceri Holland, Ffion Morgan and Ella Powell.
Progress against Albania would set up a play-off final against either Romania or Norway. That tie is played over two legs, on Tuesday 1 December and Saturday 5 December. The winner qualifies for the finals.
