With just 36 points in three games, the Patriots' offense has been rough to open 2026, to say the least.
New England has turned the ball over eight times already, struggling to get anything going offensively as Drake Maye faces more questions than ever about his play.
Plenty of stats indicate just how dire the situation has been for Josh McDaniels' unit so far — but one viral post over the weekend puts the Patriots in comparison with one of the worst Jets teams this decade.

Wild Patriots Stat Shows How Historically Rough Offense Has Been
As things stand heading into Week 4, the Patriots rank at the bottom of the league in plenty of offensive categories. Their 12.0 points per game are tied with Tennessee for the lowest in the NFL, and according to PFF, their 6.7% of drives that have ended in touchdowns is by far the worst in the league.
One viral stat helped put it all into context, though. According to Doug Clawson, over New England's first 30 offensive drives of the season, the team scored just 29 points for a points-per-drive of 0.97.
That 0.97 mark is the lowest by any team through three NFL games since the 2021 Jets, who were in the first three starts of Zach Wilson's rookie season. New York ultimately finished that season 4-13, with Wilson throwing 11 interceptions in 13 games and taking 44 sacks.
The Patriots' 0.97 points per drive so far this season is easily the lowest in the NFL. The Dolphins have the second-worst mark at 1.29:
By just about any measure, it's been a disastrous start for Mike Vrabel's offense. New England will be hoping to turn it around starting with a Week 4 matchup in Buffalo — but if Maye can't find much success, the season is quickly going south for the defending AFC champions.
