Criticism has been directed at the Chicago Bears’ injured quarterback Caleb Williams on social media following footage of him pacing the sideline during the national anthem before Monday’s game against the Philadelphia Eagles.

NFL Fans Condemn Caleb Williams Behavior
While the staff stood respectfully for the anthem, the quarterback seemed unbothered by his inactive status. Williams sustained a hamstring strain in the loss to the Minnesota Vikings.

“Caleb Williams have some respect for the national anthem!” another reacted.
“Thought his hamstring was in such bad condition what he walking around free for?” a fan wrote.
“Still trying to walk off that stage 1 hamstring strain,” one wrote.
“Kaepernick 2.0? 🤦🏻♂️ But with talent,” another commented, referring to Colin Kaepernick’s protest during the NFL preseason in August 2016.

According to the U.S. Flag Code, civilians should stand at attention facing the flag with their right hand over their heart during the national anthem, via Fox’s OutKick.
