**Christian Norgaard is closing in on his first senior involvement for Everton.**
Norgaard has yet to feature for David Moyes’ side since sealing a £7 million move from Arsenal during the summer window to bolster midfield options.
The Denmark international, who won a Premier League title in north London, was ruled out of the Blues’ opening seven matches in all competitions.
Moyes confirmed that Norgaard’s recovery from an unspecified issue had taken longer than anticipated, leading to a staggered start on Merseyside.
But the 32-year-old has made tangible strides towards a successful recovery after appearing in training at Finch Farm during the current international break.
Norgaard joined the likes of Jack Grealish and Ainsley Maitland-Niles in being put through their paces on Tuesday during club football’s extended hiatus.
The midfield could play in Everton’s plans for a behind-closed-doors friendly with Blackburn Rovers this week ahead of a return to action on October 11.
