Chelsea midfielder Lexi Potter has earned her first senior England call-up as Sarina Wiegman leaves Chloe Kelly and Ella Toone out of her latest squad.
Potter joins the Lionesses for October’s two-legged World Cup qualifying play-off against Greece, with Arsenal winger Kelly and Manchester United midfielder Toone missing out.
England’s official squad announcement confirms her inclusion in Wiegman’s 23-player group.
It marks another significant step for the academy graduate, whose recent performances have already created a Chelsea selection dilemma for Sonia Bompastor.

Potter has turned first-team opportunities into tangible contributions this season, including the opening goal in Chelsea’s 2-0 WSL victory over Birmingham City.
Wiegman said, as reported by the Guardian: “Her performances have really impressed us so she really deserves this call-up.”
Potter joins Chelsea team-mates Hannah Hampton, Lucy Bronze, Keira Walsh and Lauren James in the England squad. Aggie Beever-Jones is absent.
The selection gives Potter an opportunity to make her senior international debut, although she must still earn minutes across the two fixtures.
England visit Greece in Heraklion on Friday 9 October, with kick-off at 5.30pm BST. The return takes place at Leicester’s King Power Stadium on Tuesday 13 October at 7.30pm.
Winning that tie would send England into a second play-off round against Slovakia or Ukraine, with World Cup qualification still to secure.
Before joining England, Potter’s immediate club focus is Chelsea’s European campaign, with Wednesday’s trip to face Lyon next on the schedule.
