As Liverpool continue their long wait for a return to Premier League action, more of their players have been in international action. Among them are Jeremy Jacquet and Bradley Barcola, both of whom have helped France make a 100 per cent start in the Nations League, albeit not without some controversy.

We're halfway through the four-match UEFA programme and Andoni Iraola has already seen both Alexander Isak and Cody Gakpo leave their respective international camps early. While Isak's injury looks to be a minor one, Gakpo could be missing for a little longer.

The January transfer window is some way away, and there has also been chatter on that front. Despite a big-spending summer, scouting future talents never stops and there's a new name in the mix.

We have an update for you on the fallout from this week's internationals as well as a transfer update. Here are our latest headlines from around Anfield.

Wonderkid Scotti 'being eyed'

Uruguayan winger Nicolas Scotti is the latest young talent on Liverpool's radar, according to reports in South America. However, they could face a battle from big-hitters in Europe and Brazil.

The 16-year-old is said to have a release clause of just under £6m. Comfortable on either wing, he grabbed a goal and an assist on his debut for Uruguay's Under-18s in August.

Scotti is currently on the books of Defensor Sporting, the Montevideo club where 2010 World Cup stars Sebastian Abreu and Maxi Pereira started out. He has already earned first-team minutes in the league but has yet to score his first senior goal.

Barcola risks punishment

Liverpool wide man Bradley Barcola has admitted he could land himself in trouble for comments made about the non-award of a penalty in France's victory over Belgium. He went down under a challenge from Nathan Ngoy but the referee was unconvinced.

"If I talk about it, I'm probably in trouble, but I have to say what I think," Barcola said. "I felt the contact. I was inside the box and I was trying to continue the action.

"Maybe the referee saw it differently, but from where I was, it affected the play. What frustrates me most is that these decisions can change a game. You work for 90 minutes and sometimes one moment decides everything.

"I don't want to complain about referees in the Nations League or Premier League, I just want consistency. If there is contact and it affects the attacker, at least take another look. I'll probably get fined for saying this, but honestly, I thought it was a penalty."
