Steven Gerrard and Luis Suárez feature amongst the former Liverpool players who could be awarded a Premier League medal should Manchester City be stripped of their titles.
The latter have been found in breach of 114 alleged financial regulations, casting further uncertainty over their achievements during this century.
The matter remains unresolved, with City poised to challenge the verdict having consistently denied wrongdoing since the Premier League formally brought charges in February 2023. Senior executives Ferran Soriano and Khaldoon Al Mubarak have both maintained their protestations of innocence to counterparts at rival clubs and City's own fanbase, respectively.
Nevertheless, should the club be deemed guilty and their challenge rejected, they could face significant sanctions.
The independent panel additionally holds the power to enact retrospective action and revoke the club's Premier League championships.
Were this situation to materialise, the titles might feasibly be awarded to whichever side concluded the relevant seasons in second place. Since 2008, Liverpool have finished as runners-up to City on three occasions, although only one of these campaigns falls within the 2009-2018 period City stand accused under.
Players receive a Premier League winners medal upon making five or more league appearances throughout the season. Consequently, here's a review of the 21 individuals who meet this criteria across the three seasons in which the Merseyside outfit finished as runners-up behind City.
