Everton handed January route to Teun Koopmeiners as Juve stance emerges

Everton could have another opportunity to move for Teun Koopmeiners in January, with Juventus reportedly prepared to consider his departure.

The Everton interest isn’t new. Italian newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport reports that the Blues were among the clubs tracking the Netherlands midfielder towards the end of the summer transfer window.

Juventus could now look for a buyer in January if Koopmeiners doesn’t establish himself over the next three months.

Everton could revisit Koopmeiners interest

Gazzetta dello Sport reports that Juventus would prefer a permanent departure and are reluctant to sell for less than €25m (£21.7m) because of the potential ‘capital loss’.

A six-month loan could also become an option if a permanent deal doesn’t materialise.

Everton, Newcastle United, Monaco and Galatasaray are named among the clubs that were tracking Koopmeiners late in the summer window and could return for him.

The 28-year-old joined Juventus from Atalanta for €51.3m plus bonuses in 2024 but hasn’t established himself in Turin as the club had hoped. There is no suggestion at this stage that Everton have made a fresh approach.

Their previous interest does, however, make Juventus’s reported willingness to consider either a January sale or loan worth watching as the winter window approaches.
