Tottenham Hotspur underwent a major squad overhaul during the summer transfer window. They focused on bolstering all areas of the pitch before the start of the season.
As a result, the Lilywhites saw Savio, Omar Marmoush and Mykhailo Mudryk arrive at the club to strengthen the attack and give Roberto De Zerbi some much-needed depth in the squad to compete for the European spots. Despite investing heavily in experienced Premier League forwards, De Zerbi’s side continues to face problems finding the back of the net.
Tottenham have managed to score just two goals in their opening five Premier League matches, and they came in the 3-2 home defeat to Aston Villa before the international break. The worrying thing is none of the attackers have managed to break their goal-scoring drought in the Premier League so far. This is why the Hotspur Way chiefs are keeping tabs on several forwards ahead of the winter window.
Tottenham face competition from Liverpool for Brentford star
Recent reports claim Tottenham are closely monitoring Brentford forward Kevin Schade. This comes in the wake of the 24-year-old’s excellent start to the new season, which has yielded three goals and an assist in five Premier League games. He has been a key contributor to Brentford sitting fourth in the table.
However, Spurs aren’t the only club interested in him. According to an exclusive report from TEAMtalk, Liverpool have emerged as strong favourites to sign Kevin Schade from Brentford. A deal could be thrashed out as early as January, with the Germany international now entering the final 18 months of his contract at the Gtech Community Stadium.
The Bees are understood to have opened talks over a new contract with the versatile forward, with improved wages on the table as the club seeks to protect one of its most valuable assets. Should they fail to agree on a new deal, the report adds that the West London club might opt to move him on a healthy profit in January.

Schade’s explosive pace, directness, unpredictability, work rate and ability to play on either flank or through the middle make him an attractive option for top clubs seeking cutting edge in attack and squad depth. The 24-year-old’s recent call-up to the German national squad by new manager Jurgen Klopp has only enhanced his profile.
For now, Brentford remain in a commanding position over their star winger’s future, but the race for his services is gathering steam and could intensify further if he fails to agree to an extension. With Liverpool considered the favourites, Tottenham must not hesitate to test the Bees’ resolve for Schade’s signature in January.
