The attention has certainly shifted for Liverpool fans over the last few days, and supporters of other Premier League clubs for that matter.
Having now been found guilty on the majority of the 115 charges levied against it, Manchester City could face unprecedented punishments, and the Reds and the rest of their rivals will be watching on with interest.
The fallout from the case has seen the usual transfer rumors taking a bit of a backseat over recent days, although there is still plenty of speculation doing the rounds, with Liverpool being linked with both outgoings and incomings as the January window nears.
Here is the Liverpool.com verdict on the latest transfer gossip to emerge around the Reds.
Florian Wirtz (Liverpool)
There is no chance of Liverpool selling Florian Wirtz in January — but the German international could still be heading for an exit from Anfield if SportBILD is to be believed (as per Sport Witness).
It’s claimed that Liverpool will start to consider its options if things don’t start to improve with Wirtz, with the 23-year-old coming in for major criticism amid a disappointing start to the season.
This new report suggests that Wirtz was ill-prepared for “internal power struggles” at Anfield, and points to issues last season such as the tactical setup, the “selfishness” of Mohamed Salah and the overhaul of the squad.

Although it’s suggested that an exit could be on the cards, the report also warns there are few times who could be options to take Wirtz, with Manchester City, Arsenal and Chelsea touted.

Liverpool needs to start seeing some improvements from Wirtz soon. His most recent performance against Bournemouth was one of the poorest he's produced, and it's not like he's been setting the league alight in other games. If things don't improve, as drastic as it sounds, the Reds may just have to consider cutting their losses with him.
Alex Scott (Bournemouth)
Bournemouth is not willing to entertain offers for Alex Scott in January, but Liverpool is among the clubs interested in the midfielder, according to BBC Sport.

Scott’s stock has risen this week after he was handed his senior England debut in Tuesday’s 2-0 win in Czechia, and speculation continues to surround his future as he approaches the final 18 months of his contract.
Liverpool, Chelsea and Arsenal are the clubs named as holding an interest in the 23-year-old, but Bournemouth is claimed to have warned them that it will not welcome any contact over a move. The Cherries are also said not to be entertaining offers for other key players, including striker Eli Junior Kroupi and winger Rayan.
Liverpool.com says: It feels like Scott will get a big move at some point; it's just a matter of when and where he ends up going. There will be the obvious links with Andoni Iraola at Liverpool, but he might not be quite what the Reds need at the moment. There's no shortage of more attacking midfield options at Anfield, and the Reds could do with a more defensive-minded player.
