Liverpool join race for Brentford forward Kevin Schade
Liverpool have emerged as serious contenders for Brentford forward Kevin Schade, with the Germany international’s impressive start to the season increasing interest ahead of the January transfer window.
Schade has scored three times in five Premier League appearances this term, helping Brentford make an unbeaten start under Keith Andrews. His form has also strengthened his standing with Germany, having started Jürgen Klopp’s first match in charge.
TEAMtalk reports that Liverpool are among the leading contenders for the 24-year-old, with the possibility of a January move depending partly on his contract situation.
Schade is under contract until 2028, but Brentford have already opened discussions over improved terms. The Bees are keen to secure his longer-term future after his development into one of their most important attacking players.

Liverpool’s interest is particularly notable because of Schade’s versatility. Primarily deployed on the left, he can also operate from the right or through the middle, giving Andoni Iraola another option across the forward line.
The Reds are not alone in their interest. Arsenal were among the clubs keen on Schade towards the end of the summer window, while Chelsea and Tottenham have also monitored the forward. Manchester United have been linked with him more recently.
For Brentford, the priority remains keeping Schade rather than preparing for his departure. However, if negotiations over a new contract fail to progress, his situation could become more complicated during the next transfer windows.
Liverpool’s interest has also been reported separately by the club’s own website, which noted Sky Sports’ claim that the Reds were among the sides looking to sign Schade.
There is no indication that Liverpool have made a formal offer, but Schade’s form, versatility and developing status with Germany have put him firmly on the radar of several Premier League clubs.
