Liverpool are still getting linked with a lot of new players even though the transfer window is shut.
The club spent over £150 million on new players in the summer but, it still feels like there are a couple of gaps that need to be filled among their ranks.

At the moment, it's Liverpool's midfield that seem to be causing all the transfer links with both Dominik Szoboszlai and Ryan Gravenberch unable to play in a double pivot.
This is obviously a massive problem as the duo have only just signed new long-term deals with the Reds which are set to keep them at the club for many years to come.
And, if Andoni Iraola is going to be the man at the helm for a while, that is clearly a huge issue.
These facts are some of the main reasons why new midfielders are being linked with Liverpool every other day with the Anfield outfit edging closer to getting involved in the race for one "special" player.
Liverpool may end up making a move for Tyler Morton in January
Tyler Morton is probably one of the main players that Liverpool regret getting rid of last summer.
Indeed, with Arne Slot at the helm, the young midfielder was never going to get any playing time but, now that Iraola is in charge, it feels like the Englishman would've been perfect for his system.
Because, not only is he a natural number six but, if he's needed to, he can also go on the attack as proven by the five goal contributions he got last term.
If Liverpool had sold Morton for more than £15 million then they'd probably have much less regret about the deal but, since they only got a tiny amount of money for him, its clear that moving him on was a mistake.
This has been made more than clear by a recent update from Football Insider who share that Liverpool are now weighing up whether a January move for Morton would be a good move for them or not.
"Liverpool are "keeping tabs" on the progress of their former midfielder Tyler Morton at Lyon, sources have told Football Insider," they wrote.
"The Reds have continued to keep tabs on the 23-year-old's progress after his exit from Anfield in 2025, but they have not made any concrete moves at this stage.
"The former England U21 international is one of several midfielders on Liverpool's radar ahead of the January window, as they are keen to add a new number six to their ranks.
"However, sources say that Lyon are reluctant to lose Morton in the middle of the season, and would attempt to block a move if possible.
"Iraola is keen to bolster his midfield options during the mid-season window, and that has prompted the recruitment team at Anfield to delve into their list of targets.
"The boss is keen to add greater defensive solidity in the middle of the park, and Morton is seen as a player who could potentially provide that."
Tyler Morton is the midfielder who makes the most sense for Liverpool to sign
Alongside their current crop of midfielders being unable to play in a double pivot, Liverpool also have a major homegrown issue.
At the moment, the Reds cannot add any players who aren't homegrown to their squad due to the sheer lack of homegrown players that they have among their ranks.
This resulted in Liverpool having to leave both Federico Chiesa and Wataru Endo out of their Champions League squad which probably didn't go down too well with either of them.
So, with all of this in mind, bringing Morton, who would be homegrown at club for Liverpool back to Anfield makes total sense.
Indeed, his form did slow down towards the end of last season but, even just from the glimpses of quality he showed, it's clear that he's ready to take on the Premier League.
Lewis Koumas and James McConnell are both thriving among Iraola's ranks at the moment and, if Liverpool manage to bring Morton back, he could end up doing the same.
Here's hoping that actually happens and Liverpool seal a return for their former sensation.
