Former Liverpool favourite Trent Alexander-Arnold is reportedly making a significant contribution to his home city, with a number of youngsters from his youth initiatives earning places at academies throughout the North West. This follows former England manager Sam Allardyce's suggestion that another difficult campaign at Real Madrid could see the full-back make his way back to Merseyside.
The versatile defender departed Anfield to link up with Spanish giants Real Madrid last summer. The 27 year old made his exit having claimed two Premier League titles, two League Cups, an FA Cup, a FIFA Club World Cup and the 2019 Champions League.
His departure, however, proved deeply divisive amongst the Reds faithful, with a considerable number believing it was misguided for a homegrown talent to leave when the club was so well-placed to challenge for further silverware. Liverpool also faced the prospect of losing their vice-captain on a free transfer once his contract ran out on 30th June that summer.
Yet with the FIFA Club World Cup imminent and Real set to participate, Los Blancos handed the Reds approximately £10million to secure his early release from his deal.
Despite his relocation to the Spanish capital, Alexander-Arnold continues to leave his mark on his native city. The hugely popular 'TAA League' sessions, staged across Merseyside, are completely free of charge, with kit including football boots supplied to those who may otherwise struggle to afford them, reports the Liverpool Echo.
Alexander-Arnold has financially supported the League since 2022, with the initiative now extending to additional areas. The right-back has been a passionate champion of giving back to his local area, with a number of young participants in the sessions earning places at the academies of Liverpool and Manchester City, amongst other clubs.

Alexander-Arnold went on to endure a difficult first season at the Santiago Bernabéu and was omitted from Thomas Tuchel's England squad for the recent World Cup.
This has prompted speculation from Allardyce that he might consider a return to Liverpool should he experience another challenging campaign.
Speaking on Footy Accumulators' podcast, No Tippy Tappy Football, he said: "At 27, Trent still has years ahead of him.
"This is his prime. He's at Real Madrid, and his experience there should stand him in good stead to be even better than he was when he left Liverpool, even though he hasn't played as often as he would've liked.
"If he is going to be a Real Madrid player then this season he needs to be playing more than ever.
"If not, he should come back to the Premier League - Liverpool could do with him back. He's capable of opening the opposition up."
