Juventus are monitoring two very different Dutch internationals ahead of future transfer windows, with Virgil van Dijk and Brian Brobbey both attracting attention from the Italian club.
_Gazzetta dello Sport_ reports that Juventus sent a representative to Amsterdam to watch the Netherlands against Germany, with the club assessing Liverpool defender Van Dijk and Sunderland striker Brobbey.
Van Dijk’s contract situation makes him particularly interesting. The 35-year-old’s current Liverpool deal expires at the end of the 2026/27 season, potentially making him available as a free agent next summer.
The defender has spent nine seasons at Anfield after joining Liverpool from Southampton for £75 million in January 2018. During that time, he has won the Premier League twice and the Champions League once.
_Gazzetta_ reports that Van Dijk has made 380 appearances for Liverpool. Juventus are assessing his experience and leadership, while also considering whether his physical condition makes a move worthwhile given his age.
The Dutchman is not the only defender being monitored by the Italian club, but his potential availability without a transfer fee makes him an interesting option for the future.
Brobbey represents a different type of target. The 24-year-old has made a strong start to life at Sunderland, scoring three goals in his first five Premier League appearances this season.
According to _Gazzetta_, Juventus have placed the striker on their list of potential targets and see his characteristics as a good fit for Luciano Spalletti’s requirements. Unlike Van Dijk, Brobbey would require a substantial transfer investment because his Sunderland contract runs until 2029.
Juventus are already planning for future windows, with the club using the autumn months to monitor potential targets before deciding which deals to pursue. Brobbey’s situation could also become more relevant with Nick Woltemade’s loan due to expire next summer.
The club’s interest in Van Dijk could become more concrete if Gleison Bremer attracts another round of interest from English clubs. A move for the Liverpool captain would then provide Juventus with experience at the heart of their defence.
For now, both Dutch internationals remain players under observation rather than imminent signings. Juventus have started gathering information well ahead of the summer market, with Van Dijk and Brobbey offering two distinctly different possibilities.
