Former France and Arsenal superstar Thierry Henry has claimed that the pressure on Liverpool star Bradley Barcola to hit the ground running at his new club will be high.

Barcola joined Liverpool from Paris Saint-Germain for a reported £123 million fee in the 2026 summer transfer window. The French attacker has made 5 appearances so far for his new club and has yet to register a goal or an assist.

Former Arsenal star Thierry Henry has claimed Barcola needs to get up to speed with the league due to the pedigree he brings. Speaking to Betway, Henry claimed Barcola needs to hit the ground running before supporters lose patience. He said (via GOAL):

"With winning the Champions League back-to-back, playing for France, with the price tag and the quality that he has, people are not going to wait for him to become the finished article, so he’s going to have to deliver.

"There is going to be a level of expectation, and sometimes he is a bit raw in his finishing, but he creates a hell of a lot."

Henry then highlighted the key area Barcola needs to improve upon to become a better player. The Arsenal icon insisted the French winger needed to improve his finishing to become the finished article. He said:

"We all know that one-v-one, he is deadly, and he has pace. The only thing he needs to work on is his finishing, but that’s normal. If you see my finishing when I was 19 or 20 compared to the end of my career, it was so different. I became so much more sure about my game."

Barcola has linked up with the France national team for their UEFA Nations League fixtures. He will hope to improve his club form when Liverpool takes on Manchester City at Anfield after the international break.

Thierry Henry hails Liverpool defender Jeremy Jacquet for his impact at the Reds so far

Speaking in the same interview, Thierry Henry lavished praise on Jeremy Jacquet. The young Frenchman replaced Ibrahima Konate in the Liverpool backline after the latter joined Real Madrid in the 2026 summer window. Speaking about the talented defender, Henry said:

"He’s very on point in his head, and his family knows what he needs to do and how he can be successful. You can see that he already understands what he needs to do, especially in the physical part of the game."

He then claimed that playing with an elite partner like Virgil van Dijk has helped the 21-year-old Liverpool defender deal with the expectations that were on him.
