Chelsea target Alex Scott will not be for sale in January, according to reports. It has been claimed that Bournemouth want to solidify their place in the Premier League this season and the England midfielder will not be sold.

‌

The 23-year-old is attracting a host of suitors after an astronomic rise for the Guernsey-born midfielder. The Daily Mail has reported that Xabi Alonso's side are among the Premier League giants to be monitoring the former Bristol City man's future with Arsenal and Liverpool, as well as both Manchester clubs linked, with the Blues launching at least one transfer offensive for him in a bid around £64million.

‌

It's a historic year for Marco Rose's side as they compete in Europe for the very first time, with the Cherries looking to navigate Europa League football and compete in the Premier League. Scott is integral to that with reports suggesting that Bournemouth do not intend to sell him in January, with any deal having to wait until the summer at the earliest.

football.london reported this week that Scott is in talks over a new deal at the Vitality Stadium. The 23-year-old turned down multiple offers over improved terms on the south coast, but Bournemouth remain in talks.

Scott made his England bow this week as he made a 20-minute cameo in the Three Lions' 2-0 Nations League win over Czechia.

The midfielder is among the list of targets for Chelsea, who are looking to add reinforcements into their engine room after Enzo Fernandez completed a deadline day move to Manchester City.

The Blues were left unstuck in the closing hours of the window as their last-gasp efforts to add a midfielder were in vain, having gone close to signing AS Monaco's Lamine Camara before the Ligue 1 side pulled the plug on a transfer.

Scott has two years remaining on his current deal with Rose's side, leaving Chelsea, and other potential suitors, facing a negotiation battle with the Cherries hierarchy.

In addition, Liverpool's purported interest could line up a reunion with Andoni Iraola. It was under the Basque tactician that Scott really rose to Premier League prominence, and reports suggest the pair's relationship remains strong.

Sources suggest that Chelsea are serious about the 23-year-old and the summer transfer window appears to be the best moment to pounce.

England head coach Thomas Tuchel said: "Alex Scott has maybe one of the best performances in midfield in the Premier League since the start with Bournemouth.

“Individually he’s one of the outstanding midfielders so he clearly deserves to be with us.

“He took another step into the right direction. Very impressive and happy that he is on that route. Now he plays in Europe for Bournemouth and deserves to be with us."
