Bunny Shaw was left with mixed emotions after City's tale of two halves against Real Madrid in the UWCL.
City’s all-time top goalscorer was on hand once again against Real Madrid to help her side pick up a valuable point in the UEFA Women’s Champions League.
Linda Caicedo sent a hush around the stadium during the first half when she broke into City’s penalty area, before leaving Ayaka Yamashita with no chance of stopping her low strike.
However, Shaw and her teammates came out roaring in the second half, and we duly got ourselves back on level terms when the Jamaican international riffled one home into the far corner.
“I think when you look at the game, we tried much better in the second half than we started the first half,” Shaw told Disney+ post-match.
“That’s one thing we’re going to look at as a team.
“Disappointed that we didn’t win the game, but (there was) definitely fight at the end, and that was good.”
Shaw struck for the fifth time this season, but it was just her first in the UWCL this campaign, and it came in typical fashion for the dominant striker.
She created space in the penalty area before unleashing a powerful snap shot across Merle Frohms and into the far corner.
“When I’m in the box, I try to stay calm,” the Jamaican international said. “The players I have around me, it’s something we try to build in training.
“I try to stay calm, level-headed and focus on where the goal is.
“I think, with the centre-backs I’m up against, it depends on what they give me.
“If they’re tight, then I know it’s more difficult, but if they give me time and space, I know I can turn and get a shot off.”

A strong finish pleased Shaw, who was tightly marked for most of the game, but she added it was also a case of what could have been.
“We gave them a lot more time in the first half, and in the second half we stuck in and pressed them higher up the pitch.
“That caused a lot of errors for them, and I think if we had continued that in the first half, it would have been a different game.”
