Florian Wirtz scored a stunning goal as Jurgen Klopp celebrated his first win as head coach of the German national team, leaving Liverpool fans convinced that he has worked his magic on the midfielder.

Wirtz scored in a 2-0 win over Serbia on Thursday, but the Liverpool star showed his quality with a sharp turn in the box before dancing around the defense and finding the net. Tom Bischof scored the other for Germany, as Klopp followed his debut 1-1 draw against the Netherlands and shock 1-0 defeat to Greece with a maiden victory.

Klopp's decision to become Germany's head coach excited Liverpool fans, who are desperate to see the best of Wirtz, which they have yet to see at Anfield. However, after Wirtz's stunning goal and Klopp's passionate celebration, hope has been restored.

Wirtz was approached by Klopp at full-time, and was seen grinning as the head coach embraced him and said words of encouragement. Klopp is known for his ability to develop creative players and progress youthful stars, and Wirtz appeared to play with a spring in his step.

"Jurgen Klopp has unlocked Florian Wirtz, what a sensational goal wow," one fan wrote on X. "Wirtz is back under Klopp!" Another added.

"Florian Wirtz NEEDED this Jurgen Klopp international break," a third wrote. "Klopp already got the best out of Wirtz," another fan claimed.

Klopp may have been removed from management since leaving Liverpool at the end of the 2023-24 season, but he's been following Wirtz's progress closely after the $157 million move from Bayer Leverkusen. Klopp has repeatedly defended Wirtz, who has been under pressure to justify the price tag.

While it's been a slow start to Wirtz's Liverpool career, Klopp claimed that he entered an unfortunate situation upon signing for the club. "When you look at the overall context, Flo joined Liverpool at a very unfortunate time," Klopp said.

"It's about the passing of Diogo Jota. He joined a team with players whose priority was not football at that time, which is very understandable. He learned a lot from his first year.

"Now it is a new season under a new coach, and I think he has started all the games. Physically, he is doing very well."

Klopp also insisted that he saw Liverpool improving with each week, and noted that Wirtz assisted Alexander Isak during the 1-0 win over Bournemouth before the international break. Both Isak and Wirtz had underwhelming debut seasons for the club.

"The team is starting to find itself again. Attacking players always need a functioning team around them. Everyone who loves football can see what an outstanding player Flo Wirtz is," Klopp added.

"We can't do more than build him up in our team with enough training and playing time—bit by bit giving him certainty and a good feeling before sending him back to Liverpool. I wish him all the best."
