Newcastle should be looking to take advantage of Manchester City's charges after they breached the Premier League's financial regulations.
Over the coming months, it wouldn't be a surprise to see a number of Man City players head through the exit door.
Manchester City were found guilty of breaching all of their 115 charges by an independent commission, and we could see a number of different punishments come their way.

If the Manchester club are given a heavy points deduction, we could see them relegated to the Championship, which will likely mean a mass exodus of players.
Newcastle could be one of the sides who look to take advantage of that, especially if there is an opportunity to sign one of their former players.
One player the Magpies could look to target is former midfielder Elliot Anderson. Newcastle reluctantly let Anderson go in order to help comply with the financial regulations, allowing him to join Nottingham Forest.
While he was with the Midlands club, Newcastle reportedly showed an interest in bringing Anderson back to St James' Park, but they failed to do so.
It would certainly be an audacious move for Newcastle considering how much Man City paid for him just a few months ago, but it remains unclear how his situation at the Etihad Stadium is going to pan out.
One advantage in the race for Newcastle could be that Anderson is a boyhood fan, but it's still going to be a difficult race to secure his signature if he does become available.

If Newcastle can secure the signature of Anderson, it would be a game-changing addition for the North East club.
Since leaving Newcastle, Anderson has developed into one of the best midfielders in the Premier League, and his experience at such a young age, mixed with his ability, would be exactly what they need.
The issue is, Anderson is the type of player that everyone needs. It would certainly be an audacious and unlikely move for Newcastle to make, but they have to make an attempt if he becomes available, purely in the hope that he might be tempted due to being a fan of the club.
It would likely take a record-breaking deal in order to bring Anderson to the club, but considering the fee they paid to sign Nick Woltemade, Anderson would certainly be a smart and more impactful addition.
