As per the latest transfer news, Liverpool could be targeting another Barcelona defender with Alejandro Balde emerging as a potential target for the Reds in 2027. As reported by TEAMtalk, the club is keeping a close eye on the Spanish defender who could be open to leaving Barcelona after not being included in the starting lineup under Hansi Flick.
Liverpool keen on Alejandro Balde
As per Spanish journalist Juan Jesus, Liverpool remains very keen on signing Balde. The left-back’s future at Barcelona has become uncertain after Hansi Flick has repeatedly left him on the bench. Previously, Balde was an important player for both Barcelona and Spain. His situation has changed tremendously this season.
The 22-year-old is behind Xavi Espart and Joao Cancelo in the competition for the left-back position. He has made only one appearance from the bench this season. He has otherwise remained an unused substitute. This has raised questions about whether he would stay at Camp Nou.
Liverpool has already completed a surprise loan deal for Ronald Araujo during the summer transfer window. As per transfer news, Liverpool is impressed with his performance and are trying to make his move permanent.
Alejandro Balde could leave in 2027

Liverpool could target second Barcelona defender
Liverpool have already been involved with Barcelona defender Ronald Araujo. In such an instance, Liverpool targeting another Barcelona defender won’t come as much of a surprise. Balde may also factor in having Araujo at Liverpool and may be even more eager to go there. The pair already know each other from their time at Barcelona, although any decision over Balde’s future will ultimately depend on his own situation and Liverpool’s recruitment plans.
Liverpool may also face competition for Balde. Clubs like Chelsea and AC Milan have previously shown interest in him. Balde is already playing in one of Europe’s top leagues at 22. Alejandro Balde could be an interesting option for Liverpool in 2027. However, the real question is whether he would be willing to leave Barcelona and join the Premier League club. He might wait and discuss his problems with Hansi Flick with the hopes that he would get more playing time. In such a case, the transfer might not happen.
