Arsenal
Bukayo Saka may lose his place in the Three Lions squad. As per latest news, the Arsenal player has been under fire for not performing up to the mark at international level.
Saka to be excluded from future games?
Saka’s potential is under scrutiny after his recent performance for England. The **Arsenal**player has not played to the mark at the UEFA Nations League. He was part of the team which lost to world champions Spain 3-2. Consequently, the Three Lions won the next match against Czech Republic. However, Saka’s performance didn’t improve at all. The management replaced him during the Czech game in the 71st minute. The English press are calling for his removal from the main squad in the upcoming matches, as reported by SportsMole.

Saka’s performance at the 2026 World Cup
After contributing to Arsenal’s Premier League title victory, Saka joined the English team for the 2026 World Cup. The Three Lions once again made it to the semifinals after the 2018 edition. Although England lost the semifinals to Argentina, Saka wasn’t done yet. He scored an unbelievable hat-trick in the third place playoff against France. **England**not only won the match 6-4 but also registered their best performance at a World Cup since the 1966 edition. The Three Lions won the World Cup for the first and the only time that year.
Apart from a brilliant performance at the World Cup, Saka is also doing well in the Premier League this season. The right winger scored 3 goals in 5 matches for the Gunners in the 2026-27 season. The Gunners are currently placed second in the League table this season with a total of 12 points. Manchester City are leading the table, with 15 points from 5 matches.

The road ahead for Bukayo Saka
Saka is dividing his time between the Premier League and the England team. The right winger from England has had a relatively clean record in terms of disciplinary issues. However, Saka does need to work on his fitness concerns. He got a hamstring injury last year during a Premier League match against Leeds. However, he recovered in no time.
If Saka needs to make a huge impact in world football, he needs to be consistent in his form. He has a great record in European football. The right winger was part of the England team that reached the finals of UEFA Euro Cup not once, but twice in 2021 and 2024 respectively. So bouncing back from a dip in form shouldn’t be tough for him. Saka could also take inspiration from his performance in the Premier League. Apart from that, he also has the support of coach Thomas Tuchel. Although he didn’t directly name Saka, he mentioned that not everyday would be glamorous. Sometimes, the team needs to do the hard work.
If Saka is retained in the squad, he will get a golden opportunity to prove everyone wrong. However, he is left out of the main squad, he should work on his drawbacks so that it would be tough to remove him from the main team in future occasions. The question remains whether Tuchel is equally interested in retaining Saka for the upcoming matches or not.
