Viktor Gyokeres has had a difficult start to the season at Arsenal, but he has looked like a different man while playing for Sweden.
The striker has played just 29 minutes of football in the Premier League this season, with Mikel Arteta preferring Kai Havertz up top. The German has done a remarkable job there.
That has led to a lot of speculation, with reports claiming that Gyokeres is unhappy at Arsenal and is in talks with other clubs over a potential move in 2027.
However, Arteta could yet change his mind about Gyokeres, especially after seeing what he has just done for his country.

Arsenal’s Viktor Gyokeres sets a new Nations League record
Viktor Gyokeres is one of Sweden’s most important players.
The Arsenal number 14 is not rated as highly as Alexander Isak by many in the game, but his numbers for his national team are truly incredible.
In the Nations League, in particular, Gyokeres is one of the best players in the competition’s history, and he has now entered his name into the history books.

Against Bosnia, the Swede found the net with a brilliant strike to help his side draw 1-1. This is his third goal in this international break, having scored a goal each against Romania and Poland in the last two games.
Overall, the strike against Bosnia was Gyokeres’ sixth consecutive goal in the Nations League, which is a new record. No player in the history of the competition has achieved that.
In those six consecutive games, the Arsenal man has scored nine goals and provided two assists, which is an unbelievable return for any centre-forward.
Viktor Gyokeres is finally set to get his chance at Arsenal
After scoring over 20 goals last season, Gyokeres wouldn’t have expected to get just 29 minutes of football in the first five Premier League games of the season.
However, that could now change in the coming weeks.
Havertz suffered an injury while playing for Germany, and there is a chance that he could be unavailable when Arsenal take on Leeds United next weekend.
That likely means Gyokeres will start in his position, and Arsenal fans will be hoping that he can replicate his international form in the famous red and white.
