The latest Premier League transfer news including updates on Tottenham, Chelsea, Arsenal and more
We’re just one week away from the 2026/27 Premier League season returning from its mini break, with the extended international break drawing to a close in the coming days. England still have to play twice before their opening Nations League fixtures are concluded, and take on Croatia in a 5pm kick-off on Saturday before hosting Czechia next Tuesday.

Meanwhile, Premier League clubs have been starting to ponder what business they could do in the January transfer window, with just three months to go until player trading commences again. Manchester United need a new left-back, Spurs need a half-decent striker, and Manchester City need a very good lawyer.
Today’s rumours round-up begins at Tottenham, who will be desperate for the international break to end so they can claw themselves up from the foot of the Premier League table. According to Team Talk, Roberto De Zerbi’s side are now closely monitoring Brighton gem Kaoru Mitoma, as they look to breathe some life into their stuttering attack.
The report states that the Japan international could leave Brighton in the near future, with his contract set to expire next summer. Liverpool are also said to hold a keen interest in the 29-year-old gem, whose asking price could plumet in the coming months as the Seagulls look to avoid losing a key asset for nothing once the season comes to a close.
The 3AM Verdict: De Zerbi has managed Mitoma to great effect at Brighton before and certainly knows how to get a tune out of the player. Spurs already have Mateus Tel, Wilson Odobert, Mykhalo Mudryk and Savio on the bench, but with all those options either misfiring on repeatedly injured, bringing in some fresh blood in Mitoma would make a lot of sense.
Chelsea ‘set sights’ on Liverpool gem

Next up, it’s over to Stamford Bridge, where Chelsea are still reeling after selling Enzo Fernandez on Deadline Day and failing to sign a replacement. According to Football Insider, the club have now identified Liverpool’s Alexis Mac Allister as his replacement. They note the player’s recent comments regarding not being offered a new deal at Anfield, which suggests he could be open to leaving.
The report goes so far as to claim that a move in January “can’t be ruled” out, with the Blues keen to bolster their midfield options after having to rely on playing stars out of position to fill gaps in the centre of the park so far this season. There is no suggestion of how much the Reds could demand for the Argentina international, or whether the player would consider a move to Chelsea.
The 3AM Verdict: With compatriots Emiliano Martinez and Valentin Barco on the books at Chelsea, Mac Allister would certainly feel at home at Stamford Bridge. That said, it’s previously been suggested that he could join Real Madrid, and with the player having already won the Premier League with Liverpool, he may well fancy a new challenge in Spain.
Arsenal ‘could be serious’ option for Yoro

We’ll bring things to a close with our third story, which sees Arsenal linked with Manchester United’s £54m defender Leny Yoro. Caught Offside say that the Gunners are among a number of clubs keen on the French gem, as United themselves ponder signing Como’s Jacobo Ramon as his replacement.
While PSG are said to be the most interested in Yoro, Arsenal are quoted as being a “serious option” for Yoro, despite his struggles at Old Trafford in his first two seasons at the club to date. Chelsea, Barcelona and AC Milan are also said to be in the mix, with the 20-year-old already having a host of high-profile admirers before he joined United in 2024.
The 3AM Verdict: There’s been very little evidence to suggest Yoro is ready for Premier League football from his time at United. As things stand, he wouldn’t improve Arsenal’s defence at all, and they’re amply stocked when it comes to centre-backs. The best thing for the player may well be a loan out elsewhere once United eventually sign their upgrade.
