He is still only a rookie, but Jérémy Jacquet (21) already has all the makings of a star. Having already started against Belgium (0-1), the Frenchman was once again selected in the centre of _Les Bleus_’ defence this Friday for their home match against Italy (1-1), which counted towards the third matchday of the Nations League group stage.
And building on his performance against _Les Diables Rouges_, the Liverpool FC player continued to impress his manager Zinédine Zidane, who was full of praise for him after the match.
_“He has been very good, very, very good, and valiant,”_ said Zidane. _“He’s not afraid to come out a long way off his line, and he was very good in one-on-one situations. In short, he was once again very good. I’ve said it four times (laughs).”_
Called up to the France squad for the first time during this September international break, the former Stade Rennais FC player – whose debut in the Premier League was nothing short of remarkable – seems to have already won Zidane’s trust.
