BlueCo has reportedly registered strong interest in Boca Juniors teenager Tomás Aranda, as Chelsea examine the 19-year-old Argentine. Reports from TransferFeed place the youngster on their radar, while other European reports have linked the interest to a possible 2027 move through the BlueCo network possibly having the youngster join Strasbourg on loan.

Aranda joined Boca’s senior set-up in 2026 and holds a contract until December 2029. TransferFeed reports that his release clause has been set between €17m and €20m, while a French report has put a possible number at around €13m. No single fee has been firmly established across the available reports.

Tomás Aranda transfer: What makes the Argentine attractive?

Aranda has operated mainly as an attacking midfielder, while Boca have used him across the left side and higher attacking areas. His 2026 league record includes 19 appearances, one goal and three assists.

There is a clear technical appeal. Aranda prefers his right foot and can receive between the lines, carry the ball into space and combine around the final third. At 19, those qualities give Chelsea a young option who could develop with regular senior football.

The multi-club structure adds another angle. BlueCo owns Chelsea and holds a majority stake in Strasbourg, giving young players a route to regular senior experience. French reports have suggested Strasbourg could become part of Aranda’s development plan, although that remains a proposal rather than a confirmed arrangement.

Chelsea’s interest comes after Xabi Alonso took charge in July 2026. His work at Bayer Leverkusen showed a preference for technical players who can contribute in several phases. Aranda’s profile offers a logical scouting case, though his limited top-level experience means expectations would need restraint. Meanwhile, Chelsea have also been linked to a January transfer of Tyrick Mitchell.

Could Tomás Aranda become a prudent Chelsea signing or just another prospect?

For Chelsea, the attraction lies in buying potential before the market pushes the price higher. Yet the club should judge the fee against Aranda’s current output, injury situation and pathway to first-team minutes. He reportedly suffered an ankle injury in August, with reports expecting him to miss the rest of 2026.

The profile makes sense, but the price matters enormously. A €13m deal would look very different from a €20m clause, for a teenager still building his senior record. If Chelsea believe Alonso can give him a clear role, the move could make sense as a long-term investment rather than a headline purchase.
