Liverpool is in an awkward position with the future of two key players over the next few months, with Juventus among the sides linked with a possible double swoop

The future of Liverpool duo Virgil van Dijk and Alisson Becker is unclear, as teams start to circle the pair for a potential bargain transfer deal next summer.
Van Dijk and Alisson are among the two longest-serving members left in the Reds squad, with both of them joining in 2018 as the finishing touches of an historic team built by Jurgen Klopp. The pair helped keep the defence on lockdown, while the rest of the team could implement its high-intensity, high-pressing style in the search for match-winning goals.
The centre-back and goalkeeper, now captain and vice-captain respectively, helped Liverpool win the Premier League and Champions League under Klopp, sticking around through the glory years and into the new-look teams of recent years.
Both players featured heavily for Arne Slot in the title-winning season under the Dutch head coach, before recent difficulties have led to internal questions about where this team goes next.
Andoni Iraola will be relying heavily on the two experienced figures to be the guiding light for the next generation of stars who are looking to replicate what they have done, but the time that the duo has at Anfield may be dwindling.
Van Dijk and Alisson have less than one year remaining on their contracts, and it's unclear whether the hierarchy at Liverpool is keen on a renewal for them at this point. That could open the path for an exit next summer, with teams queuing up over that possibility to swoop for their signatures.

Among the most keen is Juventus, as recent reports have stated the Italian club is keen on landing both Liverpool aces as free agents at the end of the season.
A report from Tuttosport claims that the Bianconeri is interested in Alisson, having missed out on the opportunity to sign him earlier this year, with head coach Luciano Spalletti keen on bringing him to the club.
Meanwhile, a report from Gazzetta dello Sport claims that the Old Lady has been scouting Van Dijk in his recent outings for the Netherlands during the international break, particularly to get some insight into his fitness rather than his quality, which the club already knows all about.
While it remains to be seen whether a formal offer will be made to the pair, time could be of the essence for Iraola and the hierarchy above him.
Players can agree pre-contract deals with clubs as of January, so long as they are outside of England, meaning that Juventus and others could strike an agreement to sign both players before the Reds can seal a new contract.
It puts some possible pressure on those at the very top, who will need to make decisions sooner rather than later on how the squad will look moving forward.
