Liverpool hero Andy Robertson has hit another proud milestone in his career, as the defender notched up his 100th appearance for his nation, Scotland, on Saturday.

‌

The defender has been a regular for the side ever since he made his debut back in 2014, locking down the left flank as his own despite the fierce competition in his place. Robertson's international career has ran alongside many different clubs he has played for on the domestic stage, starting out with Scotland while he was at Dundee United, before his move to Hull City and then Liverpool.

Now at Tottenham, the 32-year-old has become captain of the side, guiding them into the World Cup over the summer, while there is hope that qualification for the upcoming European Championships will follow - which will be co-hosted by Scotland.

That will be the aim over the next two years, but for now, the Tartan Army is focusing on the UEFA Nations League, with a new era underway with the arrival of head coach Sebastien Pocognoli.

While it marks a fresh start with plenty of change expected, some things have stayed the same, and that includes Robertson featuring as a regular starter on the left.

The international break offered an opportunity for the former Liverpool defender to hit a key milestone, one he managed in his nation's clash with North Macedonia.

By being named in the starting lineup, Robertson officially hit the 100-appearance mark for Scotland, becoming just the second player in the nation's history to do so. The full-back was handed a special gift from his opponents on the night, receiving a North Macedonia kit with his name and the number 100 on the back as a special gesture.

The achievement also happens to put Robertson just two caps behind Scotland's current record appearance-maker, Kenny Dalglish. The Liverpool legend landed 102 caps during his career for the national team, which spanned from 1971 until 1986, which covered his time with the Reds and Celtic.

With Robertson already making history, he is seemingly on the verge of even more record-breaking moments, which will cement his legacy for club and country.

The defender will certainly be hoping for more to come, even though he is approaching the twilight of his career, with some important matches ahead of him.

Scotland rounds off its extended international break against Slovenia, before Robertson will return to club football for another month before he returns to action for Scotland.

In that time, the former Liverpool man will be looking for more success with Tottenham, after a rocky start for the team in the Premier League.

Spurs sit rock bottom of the division, picking up just two points from the opening five matches. It returns to action with a tough clash against Manchester United, where Robertson could be key in digging the side out of a tricky situation.
