It was expected the Ravens would place Gwyn and Pocic on IR after they suffered serious injuries in a win over the Cowboys last Sunday. Gwyn fractured his fibula and could miss two to three months, while Pocic exited with a knee injury. Head coach Jesse Minter stopped short of calling it a season-ending issue this week, but he admitted Pocic is in for a long-term absence (via Ryan Mink of the team’s website). Now without Gwyn, Pocic and Danny Pinter (who went down with a season-ending knee injury in August), the Ravens may use rookie right guard Vega Ioane at center for the rest of the year. Ioane, the 14th pick in this year’s draft, will make his first start at the position against the Titans on Sunday.
The Giants acquired quarterback J.J. McCarthy from the Vikings this week, but he may not be up to speed with Big Blue’s playbook yet. As a result, Haener will likely serve as the backup to Jameis Winston versus the Cardinals on Sunday, according to Jordan Raanan of ESPN.
Diggs, whose long stay in free agency ended when he signed with the Seahawks in late August, could make his debut with the club in a Week 4 matchup against the Chargers. After the two-time Pro Bowler started in 64 of 67 career games with the Cowboys and Packers from 2020-25, he will come off the bench for a Seattle team that boasts Devon Witherspoon and Josh Jobe as its top two corners.
