Liverpool will be stepping up preparations for the upcoming transfer windows, as each day brings us a little closer to the next market opening.
The Reds spent heavily once again over the recent summer window, but there remain some clear problems within the squad that will need to be addressed.
That's where returning sporting director Julian Ward will be considering his options, with some key areas that need to be looked at over the next year. So, with that said, here's a look at the latest Liverpool transfer news and rumors ahead of another exciting few months of market madness.
Michael Olise (Bayern Munich)

Liverpool has once again been linked with a transfer for Michael Olise, with the Bayern Munich star appearing as an option for the team's right flank.
The chances of a switch may only increase in the coming year, with the French international having just two years remaining on his contract when next summer's transfer window rolls around.
That puts Olise into a similar situation to that of Bradley Barcola in the summer when he was at PSG. With that in mind, Bayern is trying to sort out a contract extension.
However, BILD reports that tough talks are expected with the winger in the coming months, which could put his future into doubt, with Real Madrid and Liverpool tracking his every move.
Liverpool.com says: While Liverpool appears to be long-term admirers of Olise, a deal next summer would be extremely unlikely for the Reds.
With a frontline that contains three stars costing well over $100 million, it's unclear whether there would be the ability, or the financial overheads available, to get a deal done.
If there is that possibility, however, then it's clear that Liverpool should proceed in transfer talks to help secure the right flank for years to come.
Alejandro Balde (Barcelona)

Following uncertainty in the full-back departments, TeamTalk has linked Liverpool with a move for Barcelona star Alejandro Balde in the coming transfer markets.
The report claims that the Reds, alongside rivals Manchester United, have been offered the 22-year-old as an option by intermediaries, while uncertainty continues to circle around his future.
Balde has struggled for minutes so far this season, with the left-back previously being linked with an exit, but sticking around for the current campaign.
However, with his situation appearing unchanged, teams are now being linked with a switch.
Liverpool.com says: Liverpool is in an awkward position at left-back. Kostas Tsimikas could leave at the end of the season, with that being when his contract runs out, meaning another option there could be required.
It's unclear whether the Reds would then push for another backup, or whether someone who can overtake Milos Kerkez in that position would be desired.
Considering Balde would expect regular minutes, it could create some competition in an area of the pitch that may not need it for the time being, especially when other positions could be a priority.
