Cardinals get big trade update on Marvin Harrison Jr. as rumors pick up steam image

The Arizona Cardinals are likely to be trade deadline sellers this season, as this year is a rebuilding year for the Cardinals, and anything not bolted down, like Trey McBride and Jeremiyah Love, should be readily available for trade.

Looking around this team, names like Josh Sweat and Budda Bakers stand out as trade candidates. But the really interesting name picking up some steam lately is wide receiver Marvin Harrison Jr.

ESPN's Adam Schefter shared a big update on the Cardinals WR. While they might not want to trade their wide receiver, considering the interest from other teams and his underwhelming performance, Harrison is very much a trade candidate this year.

Cardinals trading Marvin Harrison Jr. would not be a surprise, per Schefter

"The Cardinals are not all that enthralled about trading him, but other teams are doing their due diligence; it would not be a surprise if he was traded by November 10," Schefter said.

While Schefter didn't outright predict Harrison would be traded, his report does indicate that a deal is very much a possibility for the Cardinals this season.

Arizona doesn't want to trade Harrison, not if they can see productivity from him over the next few weeks. If he shows anything of note for the Cardinals, they might keep him.

However, if Harrison continues to struggle, they might decide to shake things up, and a trade at the 2026 NFL trade deadline in early November could happen.

Fortunately, even if Harrison struggles, the Cardinals should still see plenty of interested suitors lining up to take a flier on the No. 4 overall pick from the 2024 NFL Draft.

Arizona might not get more than a third-round pick, which already might be a bit much considering how Harrison has played the last two seasons. But getting anything of value for him would be worthwhile for the Cardinals.

They're in a rebuild anyway, and Harrison is clearly not the long-term solution to the WR room. If he turns things around, maybe he can be kept. But with the Cardinals reportedly getting interest from teams already, a trade would not be a surprise.
