Every football club has a cult hero.
For some, it’s an underrated player, while for others it is someone who may not have been a great player but was a great servant to the football club.
Then, there are a few players who left an incredible mark purely because of their skills. You often see such players hailed on social media as someone ‘the streets will never forget’.
So who is such a player for Arsenal? Ian Wright has an answer!
Ian Wright says Santi Cazorla is the ‘best streets won’t forget’ footballer
Santi Cazorla left Arsenal nearly a decade ago, but fans still adore him.
The Spaniard spent six years as a Gunner. He played 180 games, directly contributed to 73 goals and won a couple of FA Cups during his time at the Emirates Stadium before leaving on a free transfer in 2018.
Cazorla wasn’t tall and didn’t possess the physical attributes that everyone feels are needed in the Premier League. Yet, he was absolutely unstoppable on his day.
The now-retired midfielder was incredible on the ball, had fantastic dribbling skills, and was extremely comfortable with both feet. He bamboozled opponents with those traits.

That is why he was so loved as a player, and Wright appears to be a massive fan of him even to this day.
On The Overlap, the Arsenal legend and several others were asked to name the best ‘streets won’t forget’ player they have ever seen.
Gary Neville picked Michael Ricketts, Roy Keane named Matt Le Tissier, Jill Scott chose Paolo Di Canio, and Jamie Carragher said Hatem Ben Arfa or Adel Taarabt.
Wright, on the other hand, replied: “Santi Cazorla, bro!”
Arsenal need to bring Santi Cazorla back to the club
Every player who has ever played with Cazorla has hailed his presence within the squad.
The two-time Euros winner always has a smile on his face, and everyone around him seems happy. That infectious energy is extremely important in a squad.
Arsenal have many such characters at the club right now, but someone like Cazorla among the coaching staff could be very beneficial as well. His knowledge could help young players like Max Dowman massively.
Cazorla only retired last summer and may want some time off. But once he is ready, we think it’s a no-brainer for Arsenal to bring him back to the club in some capacity.
