**Manchester City twice came from behind to beat Arsenal at Etihad Stadium and increase the pressure on their manager Renee Slegers.**
The result leaves Arsenal trailing defending Women's Super League champions City by 10 points after just five games.
England international Lauren Hemp scored twice, while Khadija Shaw confirmed the victory in an explosive second half.
A more cagey first half ended all square after Lisa Baum bundled in Arsenal's opener from close range, only for Hemp to level with a powerful finish from an acute angle.
The hosts started slowly after the break and were punished when Alessia Russo latched on to Yui Hasegawa's stray pass in the penalty area and thumped Arsenal back into the lead.
But City substitute Kerstin Casparij brilliantly curled the ball into the top right corner with her first touch before Hemp slotted the ball under goalkeeper Anneke Borbe to put the hosts in front.
Shaw sealed the win late on with a shot from the edge of the area that took a slight deflection.
Both teams had chances to add to their tally but this is a devastating result for Arsenal and scrutiny on manager Slegers will build once again.
Meanwhile, Manchester City return to the top of the table and remain the only team to have won all of their matches this season.
