The Baltimore Ravens entered Sunday’s matchup with the Tennessee Titans looking to build on a 2-1 start and keep their offense rolling at M&T Bank Stadium. Lamar Jackson had been one of the biggest reasons for that early success, giving Baltimore another dynamic threat as it looked to control the game.

That plan took a sudden hit during Sunday’s contest when Jackson left the field with an injury. The Ravens now face uncertainty surrounding their star quarterback, with the latest update coming while the game is still underway.

Jackson is questionable to return against the Titans after suffering an ankle injury, according to NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport. The Ravens quarterback was forced out of the game and is being evaluated on the sideline as Baltimore determines whether he can continue.

Rapoport reported on X: “[#Ravens] QB Lamar Jackson (ankle) is questionable to return.”

The injury is a significant development for Baltimore because Jackson entered Week 4 playing some of his best football of the young season. Through the Ravens’ first three games, he had completed 53 of 76 passes for 745 yards, four touchdowns and one interception. His 113.1 passer rating ranked among the league’s best entering Sunday.

Jackson had also been dealing with a separate back issue earlier in the week, although the Ravens said Thursday that he returned to full participation in practice. Baltimore’s official injury report listed him with the back issue, but he was cleared from that concern heading into the matchup with Tennessee.

Lamar Jackson’s injury puts more pressure on Ravens offense against Titans

The Ravens have another major offensive weapon in Derrick Henry, who entered the game with 301 rushing yards and six touchdowns through three weeks. Henry’s production gives Baltimore an established option on the ground, but losing Jackson would still dramatically change the way the offense operates.

If Jackson cannot return, Baltimore will have to rely on its backup quarterback while leaning more heavily on Henry and the passing game’s remaining weapons. Zay Flowers was active after returning from a hamstring injury, providing another option for the Ravens offense.

For now, Jackson’s questionable designation leaves open the possibility that he can return to the game. The Ravens will continue evaluating the ankle before making that determination, with his availability now one of the biggest storylines of the matchup.
