£234k-a-week LFC star urged to complete Chelsea transfer ASAP

**Former Man United scout Mick Brown has urged Alexis Mac Allister to swap Merseyside for London by making a move to Chelsea in the summer.**

Brown told [Football Insider](https://www.footballinsider247.com/chelsea/chelsea-set-sights-on-alexis-mac-allister-after-liverpool-contract-twist): _“Alexis Mac Allister is always spoken about very highly at Liverpool and elsewhere._

_“He might not be the type of player who is in the starting XI every week without fail, he can go through poor spells, but he is somebody who you’d want in your squad._

_“From a Liverpool point of view, if they’re not going to offer him a new contract and he’s coming out and speaking about that, they might think it’s best to move him on._

_“So when you look at what clubs might be interested, Chelsea are certainly high on that list, and he would be a good fit for them._

_“They need a new midfielder, they lost Enzo Fernandez, and Mac Allister ticks a lot of boxes for them because he has got that bite and aggression to his game._

_“Plus, he’s got plenty of experience in the Premier League which will be important especially mid-way through the season, so it’s definitely something I can see happening.”_

The Argentine has repeatedly made it clear that Liverpool have not offered him a new contract, even though he wants to stay at Anfield, but his contract’s June 2028 expiry is rapidly approaching.

As things stand, Macca earns £180k-a-week before bonuses, which take his weekly earnings to £234k-a-week, but at 27 years old, Liverpool appear to think extending his terms is a risk. A new five-year deal now would hypothetically see him at the club until his 32nd birthday.

This season is Mac Allister’s big chance to prove his worth to the Reds, which he has done so far. Andoni Iraola seems to be the ideal coach for the former Brighton star, which isn’t a surprise given how he flourished under Jurgen Klopp and the obvious similarities between the two coaches.

While I can understand Liverpool’s reluctance to extend Mac Allister’s terms, allowing him to join Chelsea (or any Premier League rival) would be a major mistake. He might have had a poor 2025/26 season, but Macca is still a top player.
