The Premier League returns on October 10 when reigning champions Arsenal host high-flying Leeds United at The Emirates.

Mikel Arteta’s title holders started the season strongly – winning their first four matches of the new campaign – but suffered a shock 3-0 defeat against Brighton and Hove Albion prior to the international break.

The Gunners currently sit second in the top flight table, although their defeat against the Seagulls last time out allowed Manchester City to leapfrog them.

Ahead of their next fixture, it has emerged that Arsenal are battling it out with one of Europe’s biggest clubs in the race to land a highly-rated Premier League striker.

As per CaughtOffside, both Arsenal and north London rivals Tottenham Hotspur are interested in Bournemouth forward Eli Kroupi Junior.

The repprt claims that the two Premier League sides have been joined in the race for Kroupi by La Liga champions Barcelona, who have emerged as a potential destination for the 20-year-old.

Kroupi joined the Cherries from French side Lorient in 2025 and enjoyed a superb breakthrough campaign in England last term, netting 13 times in 35 games across all competitions.

The Frenchman – who has represented his country at Under-20 level – has scored 13 times in 33 games in the Premier League, but hasn’t featured for Bournemouth so far this season due to injury.

With the youngster set to make a long0-awaited return from injury at some point this season, the report suggests that several clubs including Arsenal, Spurs and Barcelona are all keeping tabs on his situation.

The player’s current contract on the south coast is set to run until the end of the 2029/30 campaign, after he put pen-to-paper on a long-term deal when joining the club in 2025.
