LONDON (WRTV) — The Colts picked up their second straight win Sunday, 30-13, over the Washington Commanders in London.
Colts running back Jonathan Taylor rushed for 95 yards and two touchdowns in his third international game. With the performance, the 27-year-old has six touchdowns in international games, the most in NFL history.
“They track a lot of stats these days; it’s awesome, though, because it’s the start of something,” Taylor said. “Obviously, records are made to be broken, but I hope that I can continue to stack that now that I’m apparently the leader. It was awesome to share this win with our teammates, especially with some of these rookies, especially Seth \[McGowan\]. Telling him all week about how exciting this game is going to be and how the experience was going to be.”
Quarterback Daniel Jones finished 19 of 34 for 143 yards with an interception. Jones said Taylor’s success on the ground was key to leaving London with a second consecutive win.
“I think it’s huge,” Jones said. “He played great today for us. Big-time threat throughout the game, red zone, two big touchdown runs. The guys up front, I think, played really well, opening up some spots for him there, and he was hitting them well. Huge to have JT and those guys up front.”
Taylor is now 2-1 in international NFL games. He scored three touchdowns in Berlin with 244 rushing yards when the Colts beat the Atlanta Falcons in overtime last season. He also scored his 75th career touchdown in 88 career games Sunday, making him the fastest to reach that milestone since Adrian Peterson in 2012.
The Colts are 2-2 and will visit the Pittsburgh Steelers on Sunday, Oct. 11.
