The Chicago Bears waltzed to a routine 23-12 victory on Sunday at home over the hapless New York Jets, improving to 3-1 and earning a win with third quarterback Tyson Bagent.

Sans for New York safety Minkah Fitzpatrick recording a first-half interception — the team's first since 2024 — Sunday's contest couldn't have gone any worse for the Jets. The Bears possessed the ball for over 40 minutes and outgained their opponents, 492-157.

Former top-10 pick Devin Bush, in the midst of a mini-renaissance in Chicago, gave a quote in the Bears' locker room that further humiliated his Sunday adversaries.

"One of the easiest NFL games I ever played in. I’m not sore at all," Bush told a gaggle of reporters. "It was boring. I got bored a couple times. I had to stay warm, just in case [I had to go back out]."

Chicago powered to the win — and the major time of possession difference — thanks to the legs of 2025 seventh-round pick Kyle Monangai.

The running back chugged for 146 yards and two touchdowns on 30 carries.

“You guys had the ball for more than 40 minutes today, what did that feel like?” one reporter asked him.

"Like we had the ball for 40 minutes," Monangai answered, smiling. "We all know we’re going to run the ball. Other team knows it. Everybody watching at home knows it … You gotta come stop us.”

The loss sends New York to 1-3. After hanging with the Detroit Lions for three-and-a-half quarters in Detroit last week, the Jets fell flat from the start in Week 4.

The Jets were tagged with 12 penalties for 76 yards. "That today just wasn't reflective of our standard and the excellence that we are accustomed to putting forward," veteran defensive captain Demario Davis said of the infractions.

"We'll look at it, review it, work at it, turn the page, and on to the next."

Quarterback Geno Smith completed 31 of his 37 passes for 321 yards and three touchdowns last week. On Sunday, the Jets' signal caller connected on just eight of his 15 throws.

"I think that was not my best game. I think I could've done a lot better, executed a lot better in the passing game," he told reporters. "You've got to get back to work, and you've got to demand it from yourself. It starts with the man in the mirror."
