The former Jayhawk was thrown into action after Buccaneers starting quarterback Baker Mayfield suffered a thumb injury last week.
Daniels is the first KU alum to start at quarterback in an NFL game since Frank Seurer made a pair of starts for the Kansas City Chiefs in 1987.
The Bucs take on the Dallas Cowboys up next on Thursday, Oct. 8.
