Liverpool has its eye on Alex Scott, and the Bournemouth star has plenty of admirers at the moment, with Thomas Tuchel and Roy Keane full of praise for his latest performance

Alex Scott is the “complete package”, according to England boss Thomas Tuchel, with Roy Keane also lavishing praise on the Liverpool transfer target.
Scott has enjoyed a brilliant 2026, having forced himself into the reckoning with the Three Lions after impressing at Bournemouth. The 23-year-old made his first start for England in Saturday’s 7-0 demolition of Croatia, and despite not scoring, managed to catch the eye once again.
The Cherries star’s form has seen him heavily linked with a move away from the south coast, with Chelsea having failed in its attempts to sign him during the summer. It’s not just the Blues who are interested though.
According to BBC Sport, Liverpool is one of the clubs circling for Scott, along with Chelsea and Arsenal. The midfielder of course played under Andoni Iraola during the Spaniard’s time in charge at Bournemouth, but the Reds were linked with him even before he made the move to the Cherries from Bristol City in 2023.
Scott’s former manager may well have been watching on with interest then as he was handed his big opportunity against Croatia, and if he’s anything like Tuchel, he would have liked what he saw.
“First start and what a start. What a performance,” the England boss said in his post-match press conference.

“He’s just so smooth at the moment on the ball, decision-making is on the highest level, he plays with so much confidence. He’s so active, so confident and the work-rate off the ball, he’s the complete package at the moment.
“He gave us today a lot of mobility, a lot of variety and a lot of work-rate in the centre of the pitch, together with Elliot [Anderson].”
Praise from Tuchel might be expected - after all, the England manager has had his eye on Scott for some time, having included him in his training squad ahead of the World Cup in the summer.

Former Manchester United captain Keane though is notoriously harder to please, but even he couldn’t help but admire the performance of the midfielder, which will come as more encouragement for Liverpool that he could be the ideal signing in midfield.
“He’s done great,” Keane told ITV Sport. “He looked really comfortable out there in his first start, he looked like he was an experienced midfielder out there.
“He looked comfortable with the players he was surrounded by. To come up against players like Modric, if he ends up having half the career of Modric then he’ll be doing really well.
“A comfortable night for him and that’s the biggest compliment I can give him. He kept it simple, which is always a test for a player, didn’t complicate it and every time he got it he was in control of the situation.”
