Arsenal are planning to make a move for Antonio Nusa, as per latest transfer news. The Gunners have said to be decided that waiting any longer for a genuine left winger could cost them. That said, their admiration for the RB Leipzig star has now turned into clear transfer planning that could shape their January window.
Arsenal make their move for Antonio Nusa
Mikel Arteta has made no secret of his desire to add more attacking options with pace to his squad. Now, Antonio Nusa has emerged as the man he wants to solve that problem. As reported by German outlet Fussball News, Arsenal are working on an offer worth around €40m as they look to get ahead of Tottenham Hotspur in this Premier League transfer battle.
The report claims that the Gunners and the Spurs are currently the two clubs showing the strongest interest. Meanwhile, Aston Villa and Newcastle United are also keeping a close watch on the situation. Nusa joined RB Leipzig from Club Brugge in the summer of 2024. Since then, he has grown into one of the most talked about wingers in German football. Now, the north London side know they must act fast with the January window edging closer.
Nusa’s 2026/2027 stats so far at RB Leipzig, as per FOTMOB:
Competitions Appearances Goals Assists Chances Created
Bundesliga 4 2 2 7
DFB Pokal 1 1 0 1
Champions League 1 0 0 2
Leipzig holding on their valuation
Despite Arsenal’s growing interest, RB Leipzig are refusing to budge from their demand of somewhere between €60m and €65m. The German side feels they are negotiating from a position of real strength. This comes mainly because Nusa signed a contract extension that keeps him tied to the club until June 2029.
This means there is no pressure on the Bundesliga side to sell unless a huge offer lands on their table. Nusa’s rise has not gone unnoticed outside England either. Roma are keeping his track as well, while AC Milan and Inter Milan have both added him to their shortlists.
In addition, Bayern Munich and Barcelona are also said to be tracking his progress closely. This shows just how far his reputation has travelled since his World Cup performances with Norway.

Arsenal’s current attacking options
Arsenal’s pursuit of Nusa makes complete sense when you consider their current situation out wide. The Gunners sold both Leandro Trossard and Gabriel Martinelli during the summer transfer window. That leaves Christos Tzolis without any real competition for his place on the left wing.
Signing a player like Nusa would give Arteta the attacking depth his squad has been missing in big matches. Arsenal sporting director Andrea Berta is said to bridge the big gap between the club’s opening bid and Leipzig’s firm asking price before any serious talks can move forward.
Given the number of elite clubs circling the player, the Gunners cannot afford to drag their feet. Fans will be hoping their board shows real ambition in the coming weeks. It remains to be seen whether this move goes through in January or drifts into the summer. Nonetheless, Antonio Nusa has become one of the most sought after wingers right now. Given that, Arteta’s side seem determined to win this race.
