"Oh My God" Star NFL Wide Receiver Snaps Ankle In Half - Video 1
Week four of the 2026 NFL season is almost over as the New Orleans Saints and Atlanta Falcons are scheduled to face off on Monday Night Football tonight. Sunday’s slate of games saw numerous photo finishes as well as highlight plays. Unfortunately, however, injuries played a major factor once again.
This time, a star wide receiver suffered a season ending ankle injury that had fans reacting with “oh my god” when they saw the play. Here are the details.

Star NFL Wide Receiver Suffers Devastating Injury
The Kansas City Chiefs are dealing with another injury concern after wide receiver Tyquan Thornton suffered a gruesome dislocated ankle. On the play, Thornton caught a deep pass from Mahomes and was immediately pulled down from behind. When he went to stand up, he realized he couldn’t. The injury was (obviously) serious enough that medical personnel rushed onto the field and start treating him. Here is the play:

That moment when the celebration suddenly turns into realizing something is seriously wrong is painful to watch. I really hope he has a smooth recovery.
He didn’t even know it until he tried to stand up
Unreal that he tried to stand up on it. Holy crap.
Thornton was eventually helped off the field, with doctors later putting the dislocated ankle back into place. It was a scary moment for the Chiefs, especially with Thornton unable to put much weight on the injured leg.
Thornton’s ankle was put back into place by doctors earlier Monday, according to the latest report. The injury is a serious one, and Thornton is expected to undergo a full evaluation Monday morning to determine the extent of the damage.
Thornton will also get a second opinion as the Chiefs and their medical staff figure out the next steps. For now, he is considered out indefinitely, although there is some encouraging news surrounding the situation.

Despite the injury, Thornton was able to make the flight home with the team and is reportedly in good spirits. That’s a positive sign following what was undoubtedly a scary moment for the young receiver.
The Chiefs will know much more about Thornton’s outlook after Tuesday’s evaluations. Until then, the team will have to prepare for the possibility of being without another piece of its receiving corps for an extended period of time.
