Chelsea Diary: Premier League return takes centre stage

Here is what to look out for from Monday 5 October to Sunday 11 October, as Xabi Alonso’s side prepare to host Bournemouth and the final Chelsea players on international duty complete their schedules.

Monday

The week begins with Keira Walsh reflecting on Chelsea Women’s 3-0 win at West Ham United.

Our Ultimate Goal of the Season competition has reached its finale, while in the evening there is international action. Mike Penders and Romeo Lavia’s Belgium visit Maxence Lacroix's France in the UEFA Nations League. We will bring you updates on any Chelsea players who feature for their countries.

Tuesday

The extended international break concludes when Emiliano Martinez and Valentin Barco’s Argentina host Benin in their final friendly, while England take on Czechia in the Nations League.

There is also Under-21 international action, with Josh Acheampong's England side facing the Republic of Ireland in their UEFA European Championship qualifier, while Geovany Quenda and Portugal Under-21s meet Czechia.

Look out for our final updates on the Blues involved and a round-up of the international window.

Wednesday

With no senior or Academy fixture scheduled for the Blues, attention turns towards the weekend. We will continue to bring you the latest news from Cobham as the returning internationals link back up with their club team-mates.

The Blues' last Premier League outing came at Brentford on 18 September, before the extended international break created a longer-than-usual pause in domestic action. Chelsea will now be looking to return to winning ways when Bournemouth visit Stamford Bridge.

Thursday

The build-up to Chelsea’s Premier League meeting with Bournemouth gathers pace. Our preview coverage will set the scene for the Blues’ first club fixture following the extended international break.
