It has been a bittersweet week for Alex Scott. After making his first two England appearances - including his first start for his nation's senior side in the 7-0 win over Croatia on Saturday - the 23-year-old has now been ruled out of action for around two months.
Scott played through the pain barrier to make his full Three Lions debut, according to sources close to Bournemouth, at the weekend. Now, it has been confirmed that the Cherries midfielder will face anything from six to eight weeks out of action due to a quadriceps injury.
Chelsea supporters will be relieved that Scott is out of Saturday afternoon's Premier League meeting between the Blues and Bournemouth but might also feel slightly upset given their side hold a strong interest in the midfielder.

Sources close to Stamford Bridge say that Chelsea are considering making a move for Scott in the January transfer window. However, it is worth noting that the Cherries are adamant they will not sell their star midfielder midway through the campaign.
Either way, the prospect of Scott linking up with the likes of Morgan Rogers, Cole Palmer and Joao Pedro is an exciting one for Chelsea fans. Speaking of Rogers, he was one of the hundreds to comment on the England midfielder's Instagram post following his full debut for his country.
After producing a fine performance, despite having a knock at the time, before coming off on the 70-minute mark, Scott took to his Insta page to post a photo of himself alongside the caption: "first start and a top win (praying emoji) @england".
Rogers, who scored in England's 7-0 win, responded with the 'top emoji' to show his support to Scott. Meanwhile, Jude Bellingham, who also bagged for the Three Lions on Saturday, commented: "Love it u".

Rogers' well-taken goal in Croatia was England's seventh of the match in a dominant win. It was the 24-year-old's fourth goal of the season for club and country in all competitions after his £117million move from Aston Villa in the summer transfer window.
In his 25th cap for England, it was just the second time Rogers has got himself on the scoresheet - and the Chelsea attacker is hoping to improve the regularity of his goals as time goes on.
"Playing for my country means everything to me. I'm a proud player who wants to play for their country and do well," said Rogers after the win in Croatia.

"I probably haven't scored as many goals for England as I would have liked. To get that one was really nice and hopefully I can continue and get many more."
