Denver Broncos wide receiver Pat Bryant (13) is carted off the field with an apparent injury during the second half against the San Francisco 49ers at Levi's Stadium.

The Denver Broncos suffered a tough 24-14 Week 4 loss to the San Francisco 49ers on Sunday, giving the club a 2-2 record on the season. However, the franchise was given bad news on Monday, as it appears Pat Bryant will be out with an injury for some time.

After being carted off the field late in the third quarter, reports indicate that the 23-year-old wide receiver will miss a few weeks, according to ESPN's Adam Schefter. It's said that Bryant is dealing with a sprained right ankle.

“Broncos WR Pat Bryant sprained his ankle during Sunday’s loss at San Francisco, and now is expected to miss ‘a few weeks,' per source,” Schefter reported.

The good news is that it's not a season-ending injury and that Bryant will return at some point this year. However, in the meantime, the Broncos will need someone to step up as the WR3. Troy Franklin and Marvin Mims Jr. are both listed as the immediate rotational options in the wide receiver room.

Head coach Sean Payton will have several days to determine who will get more playing time in the offense. The Broncos are scheduled to face off against the Los Angeles Chargers in Week 5 for a second straight road game.

While he isn't the top option, the former 2025 third-round pick has flashed potential early in his career. Through four games so far this season, Bryant has accumulated nine receptions for 133 yards and a touchdown off 12 targets. He's been a consistent target for quarterback Bo Nix whenever the ball is thrown his way.
