Bayern Munich star Michael Olise has reportedly issued a contract demand to the Bundesliga amid rumours linking him with a move to Liverpool. In the process, the update on Olise's future may hand a blow to his Bayern teammate - and former Reds star - Luis Diaz.

The Reds have been tentatively linked with a move for the France international in the past, and those rumours have not gone away despite the summer transfer window drawing to a close last month.

Diaz left Liverpool in the summer of 2025 to complete a permanent move to Bayern in a deal worth up to £65million, with add-ons.

Ever since Diaz’s departure, Liverpool have been linked with signing a new left winger, and went into the market this summer to bring Bradley Barcola to Anfield after agreeing a £123million deal with Paris Saint-Germain.

Despite signing Barcola, it hasn't stopped rumours that Olise could potentially be a target for the Reds in the future, and there has now been an update about the former Crystal Palace star's future.

It has been reported by Spanish publication Sport that Olise has requested a new clause to be inserted into a contract that Bayern are thought to be working on.

Olise's current deal runs until the summer of 2029, and it's been reported that the Bundesliga giants want the extension to run until 2032.

However, the report claims that Olise has requested that a clause be inserted into the new deal, which would allow him to leave the German club under certain conditions.

The update on Olise's future comes after Diaz, who only left Liverpool just over a year ago, made it clear that he did not want his teammate to leave the club.

"First of all, it was important that we stayed together as a team," Diaz told Sky Germany.

"It would have been very difficult to lose a player like that… then perhaps a new player comes in, a lot of things change, and it takes time to adapt.

"But thankfully, we still have him here. He didn't leave, and he remains a very important player for us. He has incredible quality and is showing that in these games.

"And as a person, as I've already said, he's a very good guy; he talks a lot. Sometimes he may not want to talk much to the press, and I understand that because I don't like it either.

"I don't like talking about myself at all. But you're in the public eye and have to play along a little bit, that's part of our job. Internally, Michael talks in the dressing room and on the pitch.

"It's a mix of joking around and having a good team spirit. We get along very well."
