The NFL star’s wife, Taylor Swift, was notably absent from yesterday’s away game. Just the night before, she made a surprise appearance on Saturday Night Live alongside her friend and host, Dakota Johnson.
Back in 2024, a source told Page Six that the 36-year-old singer “doesn’t feel safe” at away games unless the venue has been “coordinated and inspected by her own staff.” As a result, she reportedly prefers to attend games at Arrowhead Stadium in Kansas City.

“She’s not going anywhere unless she knows the venue intimately and it has been thoroughly scouted and secured in advance,” the insider shared.
For the Chiefs’ first game of the season on September 14, Swift stepped out at Arrowhead Stadium in an ensemble from Gigi Hadid’s knitwear brand, Guest in Residence. The “Patient Zero” singer wore her husband’s team colors in a red-and-white gingham polo dress, paired with dainty jewelry and a red manicure.
Swift previously reminisced about attending her first Chiefs game in a 2023 Time interview.
“By the time I went to that first game, we were a couple,” she said. “I think some people think that they saw our first date at that game? We would never be psychotic enough to hard launch a first date.”

The Life of a Showgirl singer added, “When you say a relationship is public, that means I’m going to see him do what he loves, we’re showing up for each other, other people are there and we don’t care. The opposite of that is you have to go to an extreme amount of effort to make sure no one knows that you’re seeing someone. And we’re just proud of each other.”
