Colts rumored to be calling about trade with Cardinals for son of legendary WR

Colts rumored to be calling about trade with Cardinals for son of legendary WR image

The Indianapolis Colts beat the Washington Commanders in Week 4, reaching a 2-2 record, just one game behind the AFC South leader, the Jacksonville Jaguars.

But the Colts are potentially in need of some help. After trading their 2027 first-round pick for Sauce Gardner, the Colts should be looking to make the most of this season. So, if they want to upgrade the team, adding to the depleted wide receiver room makes sense.

That's why, when Pat McAfee on The Pat McAfee Show asked Adam Schefter about potential teams calling the Arizona Cardinals about the son of legendary former Colts WR, Marvin Harrison Jr., it's not a surprise that they are making calls.

Colts calling Cardinals about Marvin Harrison Jr. trade amid new rumor

"Who's calling on Marvin Harrison Jr.? ... Colts, Colts are calling? Get him back?" McAfee asked Schefter, who then said in response: "Wouldn't that make a lot of sense?"

McAfee then said, "Okay, that's a yes." While Schefter didn't outright confirm that the Colts were in trade talks with the Cardinals about Harrison, he didn't deny it either.

The Colts front office, based on this report from Schefter on The Pat McAfee Show, is seemingly in talks with the Cardinals to acquire Harrison.

With Marvin Harrison piecing together a great career with the Colts, adding his son all these years later would make a lot of sense.

Alec Pierce is out for a while on injured reserve with a heel injury; Keenan Allen has been banged up and didn't play in Week 4; Josh Downs is more of a No. 2 rather than a No. 1 option; and the other receivers on the team aren't trustworthy.

While Harrison has looked like a bust this season with the Cardinals, he did finally score a touchdown this year in Week 4, and there's still some potential with the former 2024 first-round receiver.

Besides their obvious need for WR help, it would be an incredibly cool storyline for the Colts if they were able to trade for Harrison.

They're not likely to pry Brian Thomas Jr. from the Jaguars, so Harrison would be the next-best trade target if Indianapolis wants to upgrade their WR room.

Schefter alluded to the Colts' interest in Harrison. Arizona is likely fielding calls, and the Colts are seemingly one of the teams making inquiries about the former No. 4 overall pick.
